Classes will proceed based on the number of trips in each class. The number of trips is based on the number entries per class (sometimes called "How Many") . The number of entries per class is available on the website under the Competitors tab. This entry information is posted at least by the Wednesday before the show and updated frequently. The time for each class can be estimated based on multiplying the number of trips by about 2 minutes for a total time. For example, if there are 12 trips then it will take approximately (2x12) 24 minutes. Account for extra time due to course changes and scratches. The number of entries is based on the number of riders currently entered in a division for hunters and in a class (as named) for jumpers. In hunters, this is the number of riders in a particular division, for example, the short stirrup division, and does not include extra classes that may have been added separately, e.g. O/F A but not O/F B. In jumpers, this is the number of riders entered in a particular class, for sample, Novice Jumper.

Yes, but there is a fee for documents not provided on the Strider platform, whether they are provided before the closing date or afterwards. Remember, we do not charge an office fee becuase we provide the Strider platform for you to manage your entries directly. If you do not manage your entries and send the supporting documentation to us, an administration fee will apply. To avoid this fee, please add your coggins to your entry using Strider. Yes! Before show day, you can make changes that will be reflected on your show bill BEFORE THE SHOW. You can edit your entry on Strider by clicking the pencil icon in the upper right-hand corner. Detailed instructions are available on: 🔗 https://www.beverlyequestrian.com/post/hassle-free-beverly-show-entries-step-by-step-guide-for-online-entries-on-strider If your changes result in a reduction or increase in your show fees, Strider will calculate the new fee and you can settle any differences online and before the show. Even after the show has started, you do not need to inform show management if you add or drop a class. The Beverly show management system will pick up any changes in your classes based on your bridle number and noted by the in gate when you enter the ring or do not enter the ring, as the case may be. HOWEVER, any additional show fees or credits can only be settled up with the show secretary AT THE SHOW ON THE SHOW DAY. Therefore, it is best to make any changes you know you need to make before the show day. There is no charge either way.

Trailer parking location varies depending on ground conditions. In general, trailer parking is in the paddock immediately to the right upon entering the driveway to the show venue (indoor arena) after the stone pillars. In certain cases, trailer parking may be closer to the show venue’s indoor arena. The final decision is made on the morning of the show. There will be clear signs directing you where to go. For Spring 3, there is a poles class (#48), a poles cross rails class (#49) , and a cross rails (#50) class. These three classes are unrecognized and run as separate individual classes. These classes are run as USEF Table IV. 1 or "optimum time." Optimum time is four seconds less than the time allowed. The goal is to ride at a steady 350m/min pace, not to have the fastest time. At Spring 3, if there are multiple fault free rounds (within the time and no jump faults) in a class, the rider with the time closest to the optimum time breaks the tie. Riders can ride multiple rounds in each class and each round will count towards placings. Each class is a stand alone, separate class and there are no divisions for these classes.

Spectators are welcome to come and watch. There is no charge to attend. Please note that all general parking is in the trailer parking area and there is a short walk from the parking to get to the rings. We love dogs but please do not bring any dogs to Beverly. There is no admittance to the barn as this area is reserved for boarders.

The trailer parking paddock has a lot of grass and should be fine even if you do not have 4X4. We have a tractor on hand if someone gets stuck. Please direct further questions to our parking and farm manager, Dave, at 540-850-3479.

Most local hunter/jumper shows, especially those recognized by VHSA or BHSA like the Beverly Show Series, follow a flexible but respectful standard for rider attire. Most hunters wear jackets. Most jumpers do not and instead opt for tidy collared shirts. Very rarely does anyone braid.

The first three classes (48/49/50) are unrecognized and judged as “optimum time.” In the case of a tie, the rider who finishes closest to optimum time (4 seconds faster than time allowed) wins. The next two classes (51/52) are puddle jumpers and only recognized by BHSA, not VHSA. The first class (51) is scored pursuant to optimum time. The second class is a “power and speed” class. I In these classes, the first phase is the first 7 or so fences on course (the course map will say exactly) and has a time allowed (not the same as optimum time). As long as the rider has no jumping faults and completed within the time allowed, the rider continues on to the second phase, which is the rest of the course, without stopping. This phase is a speed phase in which the fastest clear wins. If there are jump or time faults in the first phase of this class, the rider does not continue. The next two classes (55/56) consist of a speed class and a power and speed class. In a speed class the rider jumps the entire course without stopping. As in the speed phase of a power and speed class, the fastest clear wins. Starting with the TB division (67/68/69), the next two divisions offer a third class, this is a jump off class. In this class, the rider jumps the entire course without stopping. If the rider completes the course without jump or time penalties, the rider waits for the starter’s buzzer and then jumps a second, shorter course, a jump off round, for time. As in the speed phase of a power and speed class, the fastest clear wins.

Under both the BHSA and VHSA rules, championships must be offered in all Jumper Divisions but only when there is a minimum of 2 classes (and a maximum of 3 classes). The first three classes (48/49/50) are unrecognized. Because there is only one class at each height, there is no division or Champion/Reserve offered in those classes. The next two classes (51/52) are puddle jumpers and only recognized by BHSA, not VHSA. The first class (51) is scored pursuant to optimum time. The second class is a “power and speed” class. Because a minimum 2 classes are offered, puddle jumpers is a jumper division and championships are offered. Because a minimum of 2 classes are offered in all of the following height levels at this show, each height level is a jumper division and offers a championship. However, there are specific rules about how many riders must complete a class for the class to count for points as a single class or as a division. Please refer to the rules of the applicable association for clarification.
