1
Lesson Horses
Riders train on our trusted school horses in our heated indoor arena with lights. Because of the indoor, riders can practice throughout the academic school year. For practice, riders only need to bring a helmet, comfortable long pants, and a heeled shoe.
2
Practice Schedule
The middle school riders ride during the PE block of their school day (twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays). The Wakefield bus brings them to practice at Beverly and then returns them to school before the end of the day so that they can participate in other after school activities. The upper school students practice after school Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The Wakefield bus brings them back and forth to practice. Riders receive PE credit and, in the case of upper school riders who compete, varsity credit.
3
Competitions
The students ride in Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) hunter seat competitions. Riders who are ready compete on the school horses at the show barns. Riders compete as individuals and as a team. The regular season IEA competitions occur from August to February. The riders can participate in a maximum of 5 shows per regular season.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a charge to attend?
No. Just bring yourself, your friends, and your tailgate. Just please clean up after yourselves.
Is there a schedule?
Polo scheduling is tricky when you consider that there are generally four teams with four players and over 160 ponies and their support crews. Check our social media for up to the minute updates.
Where can I watch?
You are welcome to watch fieldside but please stay at least 40 feet from the field (marked with boards). The polo deck is for invited guests, players and patrons only. Inquire how you can be included.
🧭 Clear Skill Progressions

We are a premier organizer and management company for high-performance horse shows, dedicated to elevating equestrian sports in Northern Virginia and beyond. Our mission is to offer outstanding competition opportunities for athletes and their equine partners, enabling them to achieve their unique goals—from entry-level riders to those competing at the highest levels of international competition. Wellington Program: A Flexible Program for Tailored Experience at WEF
Our Wellington program is built around three core principles: flexibility, low-key show planning, and programs tailored to individual goals. Here’s what that looks like:
1. Flexible, Client-First Pricing
Over years of experience at WEF, we’ve developed a model that allows for adaptable, scalable pricing. Owning our own farm means no need for season-long stall rentals, hidden service costs, or secret agenda sales commissions. You pay only for what serves you best, freeing you to participate in WEF on your terms without the pressure of long-term financial obligations.
2. Low-Key, Client-Led Planning
Forget the one-size-fits-all approach that can drain energy and resources. At Beverly, we understand that every rider’s competition calendar should be unique. Our tight-knit client program allows us to respond to your individual needs. Need a different class or a schedule adjustment? We’re here to pivot as necessary, focusing on what’s best for you and your horse rather than managing numerous riders across different rings.
3. Tailored to Your Goals
Like our Virginia base, our Wellington setup prioritizes a tranquil, horse-friendly environment with compassionate and consistent care. Our program is low-stress and positive, designed to optimize your growth in a no-drama environment. We take care of the planning and show management details, so you can focus on honing your skills and enjoying the Florida experience.
