✨The Final Stretch: Beverly Wellington Show Team at WEF✨

Beverly

As we head into the final stretch of the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF), it's a good time to reflect on the progress made and the goals still ahead. From the very start, we emphasized that simply getting to WEF takes preparation and commitment. Once here, the real work begins: setting objectives, staying on track, and pushing forward to achieve them. Now, with just two competition weeks left—WEF 9 and WEF 11—before our schedule takes us elsewhere, let’s take a look at where we stand.

Balisto: Reaching the 1.20m and Beyond

Goal: Get to the 1.20m.

Balisto

Balisto came into WEF as a new horse for Darrin, and as expected, it took some time to fine-tune the details—tack adjustments, shoeing, and finding the right routine. After a steady build-up and plenty of practice, we successfully reached the 1.20m mark by WEF 7, consistently jumping clean rounds.

Final Stretch Goal: Compete in the Classic at 1.25m with strong, confident rounds.

Little Gun: Back in Action

Goal: Get Brooke’s horse back into competition mode (1.10m maybe).

After a period of downtime, Little Gun needed a careful and structured return to competition. Darrin took the reins to ease him back into the rhythm of showing, culminating in successful outings at the Don Little Masters (1.10m) and the Classic (1.15m). Competing in the International Ring was a highlight, making for a rewarding experience.

Final Stretch Goal: Continue refining performances in the Don Little Masters. Regardless of what happens next, this horse has already surpassed expectations and owes us nothing more!

Ballyfore Amuzed: The Learning Curve

Goal: Get to know the horse.

Another new mount for Darrin, Ballyfore Amuzed required patience and problem-solving—figuring out tack, rideability, and the best training routine. WEF provided invaluable miles in the ring, allowing us to gain insight into his potential. With the help of both clients and professionals, we’ve started to see a promising path forward.

Final Stretch Goal: Determine the best long-term fit—whether that means continuing his development or finding him a perfect home as an establish 1.0m and 1.10m horse.

Pushing to the Finish Line

The final weeks of WEF are about refining our approach, tackling our stretch goals, and making the most of the remaining competition opportunities. Each horse has progressed significantly, and with focused effort, we aim to finish the season on a high note.

Stay tuned as we make the final push—cheers to a strong finish at WEF!
