October is coming to a close, and at Beverly, we are looking in two directions at once. Ahead of us is the Beverly Circuit Finals on November 21 — the culmination of a year of competition, progress and accomplishments across our winter, spring, summer and fall series. And just beyond the Finals is the beginning of something new: our 2027 Circuit season, opening December 19–20 with an exciting new two-day format.

Whether you started at Poles & Cross Rails or you’re chasing speed in the Jumpers at 1.15m, this Final is for YOU. Hunters and Jumpers, from grassroots to seasoned competitors — it’s time to make your mark.

On Saturday, October 10, we return for the final show of the 2026 Beverly Hunter/Jumper Circuit, recognized by VHSA and BHSA. It is the last opportunity to add points to the circuit standings before our Finals next month, but it is also something more important: one final chance to put a season’s worth of progress into the ring.

We begin with the Beverly Fall Classic, October 2–4 — Friday ticketed schooling followed by two full days of USEF-rated hunter and jumper competition. It is the culmination of a season spent building a competition program around a simple idea: give horses and riders what they need, when they need it, and do it exceptionally well.

Showing close to home should not mean asking less of the experience. A local should not mean a lesser competition. At Beverly, we believe it should mean something quite different: making a quality experience easier for more horses and riders to reach. A compact horse show should not mean fewer choices. It should mean better ones. The jumper ring gives professionals and amateurs room to make their own plan. We begin with the mid-range heights and build upward. Then we take a break, bring the jumps back down for our newest competitors, and begin building again. The hunter schedule follows the same natural progression, moving through the heights so horses and riders can find the right place in the schedule. Pick what works. L

A horse show isn't there to provide another week of training. A show has a different purpose: it proves where you are in your training. That philosophy is part of why the Fall Classic is deliberately compact. Learn the course. Warm up. Go in the ring. Compete. You don't need a week away from home to get that information. Do the work at home. Bring it to the show. Compete. Then take your horse home. Everything you need. Nothing you don't.

Some horses want to see the ring first. Some riders want one quiet trip before the weekend begins. And some horses step off the trailer ready to go. The Fall Classic leaves that choice to you. Ticketed Schooling opens the competition rings on Friday, October 2, giving horses and riders the opportunity to get comfortable before Saturday's classes begin. But Friday is not another required day of competition. It is simply there if it helps.

Your First Classic Can Be Cross Rails This year, the Classics start at Cross Rails. Not because Cross Rails is where everyone is headed, but because for some riders, Cross Rails is exactly where they are. It might be the first time riding at a rated show, or the first time hearing your number called and walking into the ring knowing this round matters just a little bit more. The fences may be small, but the moment isn’t. You don't have to wait. Start where you are.

The Fall Classic hunter schedule was built around the riders we see every day in Virginia: riders developing at Opportunity, moving through Short Stirrup, competing in the Low Hunters, and stepping into the Children’s and Adult Hunters. Plus, these classes run in the venue's main ring: The Wofford. Becuase at Beverly, we believe the placement of your class shouldn't be determined by the height of the fence. Access has never meant a lower standard at Beverly. It means the standard reaches further. The rings are prepared the way they are prepared for a rated weekend. The schedule is built to respect the time of people who have to be somewhere else by evening. The presentation does not change because the day is unrated. A rider in a first season and a horse being brought along for a bigger fall get the same ground, the same footing and the same attention.

A barn with hunters and jumpers should not have to choose which side of the program gets the better weekend. At the Beverly Fall Classic, both have a home. The Fall Classic runs Saturday and Sunday, with an optional ticketed schooling on Friday. Come in for the weekend and go home Sunday night. The Fall Classic is designed to give horses and riders the rated competition they came for.

September sits on the seam of two seasons.The summer calendar hasn’t quite let go, but fall is already underway. At Beverly, that means the polo field, competition arenas, school program, and show trailers are all working at once. Horses are competing at home and away. School riders are back in the barn. Polo reaches its highest level of the season. And the calendar begins its steady turn toward the Fall Classic and, eventually, winter in Wellington.

Entries are officially open for the Beverly Fall Classic, October 3–4—and for the first 20 horses entered, we are making the weekend a little easier. The first 20 complete entries receive a permanent stall complimentary for the weekend—a $200 value per horse. It is one more way we are building the Fall Classic around a simple idea: give horses and riders the rated-show experience they want, without adding more time, expense or complication than the competition itself requires

Our final show of the Beverly Summer Series, presented by The Baldwin Group, is Saturday, August 22. After that, school starts, the fall calendar takes over, and many riders turn their attention toward championships and bigger commitments. But first, there is time for one more summer show — and this one brings something new.

August is when summer’s hard work shows itself: the fields are full, the horses are fit, the evenings stretch just long enough to keep everyone at the rail a little past the last chukker, and every corner of Beverly is alive with activity.

The Fall Classic sits at the end of the season by design — October 3–4, with schooling Friday the 2nd. Whatever brings you here — one last qualifier, another confident trip for a green horse, a hunter round to finish the year on, or simply the pleasure of one more Saturday in the October air — our job is the same. To put the right classes in front of you, in the right setting, at exactly the right time.

One of the goals of the Beverly Summer Show Series has always been to make competition more enjoyable, more convenient, and more accessible—without sacrificing the quality of the experience. Beginning this summer, we're excited to introduce another improvement designed specifically for riders taking their first steps into the show ring: Classes 50, 51, and 52—our Poles, Cross Rails, and Small Verticals trio—will now be held in the indoor arena.
