🍂 Fall 1: One Day, Every Level. The Standard You Deserve.

Access has never meant a lower standard at Beverly. It means the standard reaches further. The rings are prepared the way they are prepared for a rated weekend. The schedule is built to respect the time of people who have to be somewhere else by evening. The presentation does not change because the day is unrated. A rider in a first season and a horse being brought along for a bigger fall get the same ground, the same footing and the same attention.
A Day You Can Enter Where You Are
Beverly Fall 1 runs Saturday, September 12. Entries close at midnight on Thursday, September 10, through Strider. It is a local, unrated VHSA/BHSA show, and it is where the fall season opens here.
Hunters run in the Wofford Arena from 8:30. Jumpers run in the Grand Prix Ring from 8:00. The TCF Derby follows the hunter divisions on the Derby Field.
The Poles Trio runs indoors — poles, crossrails and small verticals, three classes on the same day as everything else. It is where a green horse or a first-time competitor starts: out of the weather, on prepared ground, with the rest of the show going on around them rather than somewhere else on another weekend.
The TCF Derby Comes To Fall
The TCF Derby ran at Summer 3 and runs at Fall 1 as well, complimentary from Tri-County Feeds. Two phases — a classic round and a handy — jumped consecutively without leaving the ring.
For the start of fall, all fences at 2'. Six ribbons, a $50 entry, and a champion and reserve prize package from Tri-County Feeds. It runs on the Derby Field once the hunter divisions finish. If the derby does not fill, entries are returned.
The Derby Field itself is irrigated and flat, expanded this year past 175 by 250 feet, with natural-design jumps on new standards.
Where The Day Sits
Virginia's fall is short and the order of it matters. Fall 1 is the first of two local fall dates, and the Beverly Fall Classic — USEF-rated, and rated for hunters as well as jumpers this year — falls between them on October 3 and 4. What a horse does on September 12 is the honest read on what to enter three weeks later.
