June arrives with long evenings, full rings, and the hum of a farm operating at complete capacity. Upperville week. Sunday polo. Summer horse shows. Lessons running morning to night. Riders preparing for championships, families settling into summer schedules, and the farm in full swing across every program. This month, we are excited to welcome back the traditions that define summer at Beverly — along with several exciting new additions

At Beverly, every rider's journey is systematic: from first private lessons on trusted school horses, to winter schooling rides in the indoor, to spring competition in our outdoor rings, to riders stepping into leases, ownership, and the show ring with confidence and purpose. Now, as summer arrives—with longer days, fuller calendars, Sunday polo, horse shows, new leases, and exciting goals—we are proud to introduce the next evolution of the Beverly riding program.

We were honored to gather with the Wofford family, close friends, clients, and our broader community to dedicate our main outdoor arena to Jim Wofford—horseman, Olympian, coach, author, and one of the most influential figures in American eventing. But for us, Jim was much more than a legend. He was a mentor, an example, and in many ways, part of the foundation of Beverly itself.

This spring, Beverly’s weekly group lesson schedule is organized around clearly defined, skill-based group lessons. These labels appear directly on the schedule to help riders confidently identify appropriate classes—while preserving the flexibility and individualized guidance that define the Beverly program.

At Beverly, every rider begins the same way: learning the fundamentals through structured lessons. It’s a system designed to build position, understanding, and confidence with consistent guidance. But at a certain point, something shifts. Progress is no longer only what happens during lessons but what happens between them.

After a winter spent between Wellington and Virginia—our polo ponies and jumpers in Florida, and the rest of our program at home—we return to what matters most: being together again on the same farm. While Wellington offers exceptional sport, training, and weather, there is a rhythm and connection here in Virginia to which we year to return.

Our Summer On-Site Lease Program is designed to offer exactly that: a structured, supported pathway into meaningful access to horses, without the uncertainty or complexity that often comes with it.

Each year, March arrives with a renewed sense of possibility. We look forward to the warm breezes, the first peaks of daffodils and crocus, and the unmistakable shift toward longer days and expanded riding opportunities. It is the natural beginning of our most active and rewarding season.

As our riders transition from winter foundation competitions into the spring season — and for many, into the rated environment — Beverly is hosting a focused, three-day immersion designed to ensure every rider understands the standards that govern competition before stepping through the in-gate.

We are entering an exciting phase as winter transitions to spring. We are happy to introduce an expanded lesson structure that reflects both our commitment to lesson flexibility through staffing growth and increasing ring capacity as we can expand to our multiple outdoor arenas.

January is always a meaningful moment at Beverly. It represents both a fresh start and a continuation of the work we care most deeply about: providing thoughtful, well-supported access to horses and horsemanship for riders at every stage—especially those entering the sport or building their foundation.

This three-day program is built around a concept riders hear often—but rarely have the opportunity to explore in depth: the 3-Ring Horse. A horse and rider capable of stepping confidently into the hunter, jumper, and equitation rings is not an accident. It is the result of correct flatwork, thoughtful progression, technical adaptability, and a rider who understands how expectations shift from ring to ring. This clinic is designed to make those distinctions clear—and usable.

We are excited to introduce a brand-new opportunity for our Beverly community: Beverly’s Immersive Winter Break Clinics—a focused, three-day training experience designed to deepen your skills, strengthen your foundation, and set you up confidently for the 2026 season. These small-group clinics will take place in our indoor arena over winter break and are designed specifically for riders in our regular program who are ready for a more intensive, progressive training format.

As our Beverly show season becomes busier and our social feeds fill with ribbons, countdowns, and competition updates, we want to pause and speak directly to a group that is—and always will be—the backbone of Beverly: our lesson riders.

We are excited to share that Beverly’s Riding Club is entering a new phase designed to elevate the lesson experience for every rider — from first-time students to our most seasoned enthusiasts. This fall, we are implementing several enhancements that reflect our commitment to thoughtful progression, horse welfare, and rider enjoyment.
