As our riders transition from winter foundation competitions into the spring season — and for many, into the rated environment — Beverly is hosting a focused, three-day immersion designed to ensure every rider understands the standards that govern competition before stepping through the in-gate.
This clinic is not a casual rulebook overview; it is a structured, mounted and unmounted intensive examining how rules directly impact preparation, turnout, horse welfare, eligibility, safety, and competitive strategy.
At Beverly, progression is intentional. Just as our lesson curriculum is disciplined and layered, our showing pathway requires clarity, knowledge, and readiness. Understanding the framework of competition is part of rider development.
The Governing Framework
Our curriculum aligns with the standards of:
United States Equestrian Federation (USEF)
United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA)
Virginia Horse Shows Association (VHSA)
Riders preparing for summer competition — whether remaining in our recognized local lane or progressing toward rated shows — must understand how these organizations shape eligibility, class specifications, attire, medication regulations, and horse welfare protocols.

Why This Clinic Matters Now
Winter at Beverly establishes technical foundation and ring confidence in a controlled environment.Spring requires compliance.
As we approach:
Rated show entries
Jumper and hunter specifications
Welfare and medication documentation
We want no surprises. Clarity removes anxiety. Preparation creates confidence.
Three-Day Structured Format
Each day includes:
1 Hour Unmounted — Rule & Systems Intensive
Memberships and eligibility (USEF/VHSA requirements)
Local vs. rated distinctions
Proper attire by discipline

Professional conduct expectations
1 Hour Mounted — Applied Rule Integration
