October arrives at Beverly at full speed.

We begin with the Beverly Fall Classic, October 2–4 — Friday ticketed schooling followed by two full days of USEF-rated hunter and jumper competition. It is the culmination of a season spent building a competition program around a simple idea: give horses and riders what they need, when they need it, and do it exceptionally well.

And on Sunday, we get to celebrate the people who have helped us build it.

We are delighted to welcome Beverly’s sponsors and partners to a special Sponsor Appreciation gathering in our reserved VIP area overlooking the Grand Prix Ring. Their support reaches far beyond a banner or a jump. It helps us create the shows, programs, amenities and opportunities that make Beverly what it is, and we are enormously proud of what their partnership has helped us create.

From the Classic to the Local Ring

Then, the very next weekend, we do something equally important: we go local.

That progression is intentional.

One weekend, riders can compete in the rated rings at the Beverly Classic. The next, our developing riders and newest competitors can step into a local show environment designed to make competition approachable and accessible.

For some of our riders, October will mean championships and rated points. For others, it may mean trotting into a show ring for the first time.

Both matter.

We believe the pathway into this sport should be visible, welcoming and achievable. Our beginners get to learn alongside the rated-show experience, see where the sport can take them and participate at the level that is right for them now.

Horses, School and Championships

Our Wakefield Equestrian programming continues throughout the month, with riders building skills and confidence as the fall season moves forward.

And November is already on the horizon. Many of our boarders and lesson riders have qualified for the VHSA Associate Championships in Lexington, and we are looking forward to seeing them take what they have developed at home and throughout the season onto that championship stage.

Meanwhile, the lesson barn keeps growing.

We have welcomed so many new riders recently — different ages, different experience levels, different riding backgrounds and people coming to us from communities throughout the area.

We love that.

Because underneath the horse shows, championships, school teams and winter travel is something much simpler.

Horses change people.

Bringing the transformative power of horses to people from different places, backgrounds and starting points is central to what we do. Some people arrive at Beverly with years in the saddle. Some arrive having never touched a horse.

There should be a place for both.

And Then We Head South

By the end of October, another season is beginning to call.

Florida.

Our winter program gives Beverly riders the opportunity to move between Virginia and Florida while remaining part of the same program, the same community and the same approach to horse care and training.

Virginia is home. Florida extends the season.

So October begins with a bang, moves through our local and school programs, points toward championships — and ends with trailers beginning to turn south.

Two locations. One Beverly.

Come see our programs, meet our horses and riders, and learn how you can be part of Beverly in Virginia and Florida.

Happy October. 🍂🐴
