🏇Hunt Country's Newest Tradition Is Back: Sunday Polo at Beverly

Hunt Country's newest tradition, Sunday Polo presented by The Salamander Collection, is back.

And what a way to start. Opening day landed on one of those rare Sundays when everything lined up — Father's Day, the summer solstice, and the first matches of our pro-am season all at once. The longest evening of the year, and you spent it with us.

Neighbors spread out across the berm with tailgates open. Kids drifted along the sidelines. Dads settled into their chairs. And out on the field, polo ponies streamed across the Piedmont as the league kicked off its first Sunday of the year. If you were there, you know the feeling. If you weren't, here's what you missed — and what's coming next.

What Beverly is About

There's something about being near horses that changes people. It pulls people outside, slows them down, gives kids and grown-ups alike a reason to look up from their screens and watch something move across open ground. That's not a small thing. That's the whole thing.

Our mission is simple: promote the transformative power of horses, protect this open space, and share it all. Sunday Polo is a reason to gather on the land, watch good horses do what they do, and spend an evening outdoors with your neighbors.

The land makes it possible. Beverly Farm sits under a conservation easement, which is a long way of saying this rolling Piedmont stays open — no development, no fences closing it off, kept the way it's been for generations. Protected ground and good horses, shared freely with the community around them.

You don't need to know a thing about polo to feel it. Plenty of folks come for their first match and leave hooked — the pace is easy to follow once the ponies are moving, and there's always someone nearby happy to explain a chukker or two. Bring the kids, bring the dog, bring whoever. Everyone's welcome here.

The Berm Tailgate — Open to All

Pull up, park, and set up your tailgate right along the field. Folding chairs, a cooler, a blanket on the grass — that's the whole formula.

And there's no ticket for it, because in a real sense this view already belongs to you. Land under a conservation easement is land kept open on behalf of everyone — the protected Piedmont, the long sightlines, the evening light coming across the field. We're just opening the gate and inviting you to take your place in it.

The VIP Polo Deck — An Elevated Evening

Some Sundays you just want to arrive, sit down, and watch the polo. That's what the Polo Deck is for.

Parking is always there waiting for you. The shade and seating are simple and comfortable — no setup, nothing to lug across the grass. Snacks and bubbly are on hand, so the heaviest thing you'll lift all evening is a glass of sparkling wine. And the view? Guaranteed. You're right on the action, every chukker, no jockeying for a sightline.
